she's baaaaaack ;D (blubb?!)

there's country music going on from the speakers in the computer next to me, and it's driving me insane. i really don't like country music. i try to be open to all types of music, but some just can't seem to endear themselves to my brain. maybe it's sad, but i don't feel sad about it, so i'll just live with my tried and true classical, rock and pop music genres. and techno, i have this addiction to techno music.
today, in honour of trying to let go some of my anal-retentiveness about grammar and also in honour of e.e. cummings, a great poet i enjoy figuring out, i am not using any capital "i"s and not capitalising the first letter of each sentence, or proper nouns; a sacrifice my pinky fingers and the shift keys are just going to have to make. oh well ;)
sometimes, i try to think of what i am going to write about before i start typing the blog. i should really just give up on this unless i already have something to write about, because it always just ends up going off on some random tangent.
sooooooo. there was a gigantic thunderstorm yesterday. the kids freaked out, it was hilarious, and kept thinking there would be a tornado (although, in all fairness, it was nearly perfect conditions for a tornado). one even thought we would have a hurricane. (too bad we live a long way away from anything resembling a body of water, buddy)
this unfortunately ruined chances for going out with friends to eat sushi, something i like to enjoy and don't get to too often.
but, there was a silver lining! (and considering the sky was REALLY dark, we needed it...)
my friend invited me to a fall out boy concert, for free, ride included.
YESSSSSSS.
fob is one of those bands that have managed to endear their music to my brain. i love their music, i love their lyrics, and i love patrick stump(h). ashlee simpson's lucky i haven't murdered her yet, and got away with it (ha ha, if anyone has listened to the track 'murder' on 'bittersweet world' by her, please laugh with me. if you haven't, read the lyrics and then chuckle along)
so that totally brightened me up a bit.
and then i got to work on my story by candlelight. writing by candlelight is an interesting experience, and i would do it again, but preferably when i also have the option to turn the lights on whenever i want, since the power was out from 4:15 pm sat. to 1:30 am sun.
speaking of music, i am making a soundtrack for said story. it's hilarious (well, not the soundtrack, it's just good) because i listen to my ipod while i write, and i just write down songs i think would fit to the plot/story. unfortunately, i want to put lots of songs on it, but they don't fit the story :'(
i am looking forward to finishing this playlist up soon (which also means finishing the story up soon too!) i know someone else is too (hee hee) and that playlist is all part of the package (bet you weren't expecting that one, were you? muah ha ha).
i'm finishing this blog now...so that i can escape the carrie underwood playlist that's been on repeat for hours as i leave the room
